Ph.D ENTRANCE  EXAM JUNAGADH UNIVRCITY 209 NOTIFICATION.
The Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University invites online applications for the Entrance
 Test for Ph.D.  programs in various subjects.  
The Online Application will start FROM IMPORTANT DATE - 26thOctober, 2019.
 The last date for submission of online application is -7Th November, 2019
 till 12:00 PM.  The Entrance Test is scheduled to be held on 17th November, 2019
 (Sunday).  Details regarding place and time of PET will be uploaded to University
 website.

General Instructions
Rules and Regulation for Ph.D.
 1. A candidate will be eligible to register for the Ph.D.  degree only in the Faculty which is
 He / She has obtained Master's Degree with at least 55% without grace marks.
 2. Candidates for admission to the Ph.D.  program has a master's degree or a
 Professional degree declared vs. the Master's degree by the corresponding statutory
 Regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or vice versa 'B' in the UGC
 7-point scale (or a grade scale in a point scale where the grading system is followed) or
 An equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and
 Accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority,
 established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority
 Assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of purpose for that country
 educational institutions.
 3. A mark of 5% of relaxation, from 55% to 50%, or an grade of relaxation, may occur
 allowed for those belonging to SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled and other
 The categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for

 7. Paper Style of the Ph.D.  The Entrance Test will be as follow:

Subject Specific Test: This paper will have 50 questions with multiple choice questions. 
Examination time 1:00 hour. 
8. The qualifying marks for the Ph.D. Entrance Test will be 50% - in aggregate (paper-1 & 
Paper-II). 
9. There will be no negative marking system in Entrance Test.
10. A list of the qualified candidates of PET will be declared by the University on University 
Website and on University Notice Board. 
11. Passing Ph.D. Entrance Test does not give guarantee to a candidate to be registered for Ph.D. 
program.
12. UGC/CSIR (JRF), NET/SLET/GSET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship holders shall be exempted 
from the PET, but they have to apply online with due fee. 
13. For Visually Handicapped and Physically Handicapped (as per the norms) candidates will be 
given 20 minutes extra time for Paper-1 and 20 minutes extra time in Paper-2. They may be 
provided with the services of an amanuensis (writer). The writer should be undergraduate, 
e.g. B.A. /B.Sc., level only. The writer must not be from the same subject (For other than 
language subjects). For Language Subjects e.g. Hindi, Guajarati. Sanskrit and English writer 
may be from the same subject. His/her identity must be checked. Such candidates are not 
allowed to bring their own amanuensis (Writer). Such Visually Handicapped and Physically 
Handicapped candidates should apply to the coordinator of PET before five days of the PET 
exam. 
14. Merit list for admission in Ph.D. programme of the successful candidates will be declared by 
the university after completion of RDC on its website www.bknmu.edu.in and on University 
Department Notice Board. 
15. Validity of the PET and merit shall be only for the academic year 2019-20. 
16. All candidates should access University website regularly for updates. 
17. The form and PET processing fee is of Rs. 1000/- (One Thousand) to be paid online through
